#103 WHY ALTON AND DOMINICK TAKE THE FERRY TO THE ISLAND EVERY OTHER DAY

We took these photos yesterday ( April 26,2006) about an hour and a half before sunset. Not a bad life for two Seniors 69 and 77 years young. I've told you a lot about the Island ( Isla Mujeres), Here's where we always hang out every other day. It's around 6:30PM now and the beach is quiet. Everyone is showering and getting ready for dinner, we stay to see the sunset, it's the best part of the day, then we go for dinner downtown at THE FRENCH BISTRO. The photos are of Sergio's place on Playa Sol. We've known him and all his workers for a long time now. We run a tab for drinks, lunch and HAPPY HOUR (2 X1), which runs all evening starting at 4PM. Lots of the girls we meet love Pina Coladas, 2 hugh glasse for 4 bucks!!! He puts out a great buffet daily, his guys bring back the catch of the day and it goes right on his large grill. Lots of garlic, salad, what's not to like. WERE LIVING LARGE !!!!

I have to tell you, in all my travels following the sun and looking for great beaches.......... Martinique, all the Caribe Islands that I've been too, Casablanca, Morroco.... Ibiza,Spain... Myconos,Greece... Fire Island, Cannes, Monnaco, Myorca, Spain.........and on and on..................ISLA MUJERES is the best. Having a coral reel makes the beach, we don't have sand, it's all very fine coral that the fish chewed up for thousands of years that created the beach. It could be 90 degrees and your feel like your walking on cool tile. Alton and I are so fortunate to be able to enjoy the Island, with all the young girls that come here from all over the world to spend a few days> what makes it so great........ it's the beaches, the ocean, lots of great little restaurant and a small Mexican Village. Sometines Aton and I look at each other and say. " Who has it this good?"....................guess, maybe Brando !!!!

Hello Irishka.

Well we are now Irishka and Nico !!!

Thank you for your letter. To answer your question, " How do you feel?" I am feeling good now that I have met Irishka. I also feel good because I exercise everyday, take long walks, meditate and eat well. Another thing that is very important to me is to surround myself with positive people. Negative people never bring anything good into your life. All these things are important in my life but meeting you and getting to know you now is the most important thing for me right now and for my future.

My life in New York City is wonderful. I just love the energy of New York. I get up at 6AM do my Yoga exercises and have a breakfast of normally three types of fruit. Around 8:45AM I walk to my Clothing Boutique. I have three good employees and they are alway waiting infront of the store for me to open. The day goes like any other business. Clothes come in from Italy and France. We make the price tickest put them on the garments and then hang them. Like anything else, some days are busy and other days it's very quiet. Usually I go to lunch with some friends, they meet me at my shop and we go to a local restaurant. New York has so many colorful and wonderful places to eat with food from all over the world.

My parents came to America from Italy. My Mother was pregnant with me during her trip on the boat. I was born in America after my Italian parent were their for 3 months. This gave me both an Italian and American passport. I have one Sister, she decided to go into the Catholic Church and to be a Nun. How nice it is to have a sister a Nun. She make sure that I go to Church on Sunday and believe in the 10 comandments. She is now working in a Catholic School for girls in Florida.

# 99 DOMINICK HAS DEJA VU FEELINGS

I have such deja vu feelings when I take the ferry over to the Island. It brings back memories of he "80's and my days in Club Med, Martinque and Fire Island. Two of you guys reading this, from the "3 EASY PIECES" house in Fire Island will know exactly what I mean. Then there are other guys on my "PRIVATE BLOG LIST" that will remember the wonderful days we spent in Club Med. WOW!! I total, I spent 16 weeks of my life in Martinque, eight trips, two weeks at a time.

The setting was always the same, and I might add, still is, on the ISLAND. For those of you who don't remember me writing about the ISLAND (Isla Mujeres), ironically it meams. Island of Women in Spanish. When they found the island, their were bust of women on the beaches, guess they came from the front of their old boats. Not to be confused with the busts of today,running the gamet from "eggs over" to " out of hand" Most of the girls we meet are under 25 years of age.

So, Alton and I have been taking the ferry to the Island , two or three times a week now, while I, some 25 years later am living the deja vu feeling of the "80's and Alton has his deja vu from working many of Hotels in the Catskills. When we get off the Ferry, we usally have breakfast at the ELEMENTS, then walk to PLAYA SOL. The setting is a picture post card, the white beach makes a turn to the right where we hang out at CAESAR'S restaurant and bar. There you can drink at the bar, eat or drink while sitting at a table only some 100 feet from the ocean under a Palapa. He has two other Palapas where you can SLEEP IN HAMOCKS and get some shade when you want to take a break from the sun.

I guess the reason I have those "deja vu feelings" when we go their, is because the setting for meeting girls is the same it was for Club Med and Fire Island. You have to remember that Cancun is nothing more than Miami beach, with it's multimillion dollar hotels, McDOmalds, Burger King, Ruth Cris Steak House, etc. The young girls from Europe, Mexico and the States find out that taking a trip to the Island for a few days is like really being in Mexico and enjoying the sun and beach too. This group has no interest in staying in Cancun.

Our hunt for girls starts on the 20 minute ride by Ferry to the Island. Sometimes we invite a couple of them for breakfast, only if they are exceptional becasue our day didn't start yet. Here is a typical day in the life of Alton and DOminck growing up in Cancun.

On the Ferry I ran into 4 Italian Stewardess that I already met at the Holiday Inn Hotel, downtown Cancun. The charter company they work for puts them up their. Yesterday, Sunday I drove down to Pto Moreles to meet Juanito, we wanted to try the buffet breakfast at this new Hotel, El Cid. The other night Alton, Jack and I are having coffee at the "Italian Joint" we still call it that out of habit, it was an Italian restaurant with tables in the street and now a gay coffee shop/ restaurant.
